We've been proudly bringing joy to tables and smiles to faces with the delicious food we've been crafting for over 100 years.
A large part of our strong growth and success is because we're always looking for new ways to do things and thinking about how we can create a better, more sustainable future world together.
Our success as an industry leader in providing deliciously good food means we can continue to invest in our future as we work towards becoming Australia and New Zealand's first choice for poultry.
Are you a natural leader who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment? Inghams is one of Australasia's leading poultry producers, and we're looking for an experienced Team Leader to join our Tuakau operations in a role that puts you right at the heart of the action.
About the Role
As a Breeder Catching Team Leader, you'll lead a crew through safe, efficient, and welfare-focused bird catching operations overseeing everything from site setup through to drop-off. You'll be the go-to person on the ground, ensuring your team operates safely, biosecurity standards are met, and bird welfare is prioritised at every step.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supervising a catching crew across multiple sites
- Setting up sites in line with Health & Safety requirements prior to catching
- Monitoring bird welfare throughout the catching process
- Ensuring full adherence to biosecurity protocols at every site visit
- Upholding Animal Welfare policies and procedures at all times
About You
A background in poultry or a similar primary industry would be ideal, but what matters most is that you know how to lead people, keep operations running smoothly, and bring the best out of your team. You'll bring:
- Proven experience leading or supervising a team in a physical, outdoor, or operational environment
- A reliable, honest, and punctual approach — your crew depends on you
- The physical fitness and resilience to work hands-on in an outdoor setting
- Flexibility to work varying shift times — some days will be early starts, others late, so adaptability is key
- Flexibility for occasional Saturday work
- Reliable transport to site
A truck or forklift licence would be a definite advantage - make sure you mention it in your application!
We're looking for people who are curious, caring, courageous and committed people who want to contribute their best and help us keep delivering delicious food that's… Always Good.
Inghams values diverse experiences. If your skills align with some but not all of the listed requirements, we still encourage you to apply.
