The Senior H&S Advisor role is responsible for leading a team of Health and Safety Coordinators/Advisors based across sites within the operational network.

The Senior H&S advisor will support both their team members and wider operational team to deliver the best outcomes for the safety and welfare of Inghams employees.

The Health and Safety team will provide practical HSE advice and coaching to establish and maintain a safety culture within Inghams.  

This role is responsible for contributing to the implementation of our Work Health and Safety Management System to achieve risk reduction strategies, implement proactive training programs and to provide assistance with Worker’s Compensation and Return to Work functions.

The role involves working collaboratively with team members to achieve risk reduction / management, injury prevention and continual improvement.

Responsibilities include

  • Prepare reports and KPI information to allow managers to make informed decisions for the business 
  • Supports the implementation of Inghams’ WHS practices and Safety for Life program
  • Identify and support development of direct reports to ensure professional development of team members.
  • Partner with site leaders on strategic Health and Safety deliverables.
  • Support the investigation of incidents and workplace injuries
  • Support root cause investigations and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Ensures all incidents and injuries are correctly reported and utilise lead and lag indicators to inform operational leaders and to help drive improvements.
  • Oversee site audit requirements and develop Coordinators to complete preparation and on site execution

You will bring to this role

  • Minimum of 5 years previous experience in Health and Safety within a manufacturing industry
  • Experience working within a similar environment with an understanding of maintaining compliance to regulatory requirements 
  • Cert IV or similar H&S Qualification
  • Experience working in a high-risk environment and driving a safety culture
