Job Description

Inghams Enterprises is seeking two experienced Electricians to join our maintenance team at our Waitoa Primary Processing site. These are excellent opportunities for qualified professionals to apply their skills in a dynamic manufacturing environment where you'll play a vital role in keeping our operations running smoothly.

About the Roles

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining compliance with food safety and health & safety standards.

Two positions available:

  • Position 1: 4 on / 4 off rotating roster | 4:30am – 4:15pm
  • Position 2: Afternoon shift | Monday to Friday | 3:00pm – 11:00pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine electrical maintenance and emergency repairs on plant machinery, production lines, and facility systems
  • Install, test, and commission new electrical equipment and systems as required
  • Diagnose faults and effectively troubleshoot electrical and automation issues
  • Maintain and update electrical schematics and documentation
  • Conduct preventative maintenance according to schedules and safety requirements
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, electrical codes, and internal safety and hygiene policies
  • Participate in plant shutdowns, installations, and upgrades
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and complete work orders in a timely manner
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in electrical workshops and panel areas
  • Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement and business-as-usual initiatives

Essential requirements:

  • Current EWRB registration
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Experience with automated control systems (PLC, SCADA, VSD & Servo Drives)
  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on approach
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work autonomously
  • Flexibility to work occasional on-call hours
  • A strong commitment to safety and compliance
  • Valid rights to work in New Zealand

Advantageous but not essential:

  • Mechanical aptitude or dual-trade experience
