Job Description

Inghams Enterprises is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our team at our Waitoa site. This is an excellent opportunity for a trade-qualified professional to apply their skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

About the role:

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a critical role in keeping our production running smoothly by servicing and repairing plant equipment to minimise disruptions and breakdowns. This hands-on position requires someone who can respond quickly to equipment failures, conduct preventive maintenance, and work collaboratively with our production team.

Roster: 4 on / 4 off rotating roster
Hours: 4:30am – 4:15pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond immediately to machinery breakdowns and implement effective repair solutions
  • Conduct diagnostics, fault-finding and repairs on industrial equipment to prevent breakdowns and maximise production efficiency
  • Complete planned and preventive maintenance works as scheduled
  • Set up plant and equipment to ensure efficient production start-up
  • Perform recalibration of instruments, oiling, cleaning and general equipment maintenance
  • Undertake basic fabrication and welding tasks
  • Carry out equipment overhauls as required
  • Liaise with the Production team to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize production impact
  • Maintain compliance with all Work Health and Safety requirements

What we are looking for:

  • A recognised Engineering Trade Qualification
  • Minimum 3 years' mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or similar industrial environment
  • General trade transferable skills that can be applied across various equipment and machinery
  • Strong understanding of mechanical maintenance principles
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and solve problems efficiently
  • Excellent attention to detail and a reliable, punctual work ethic
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
