Job Description
As General Manager, you will have full leadership oversight for this thriving organic business, leading a passionate team of professionals across operations, sales, and marketing. You'll be responsible for:
Owning and delivering business operational performance from farm to plate
Driving market expansion and strengthening our position as New Zealand's premium organic poultry leader
Leading innovation pipeline development aligned with evolving consumer trends
Building strategic partnerships with key customers, suppliers, and industry leaders
Overseeing end-to-end operations from the Hawke's Bay orchard through to market
Maintaining and enhancing organic certification standards and animal welfare practices
Ensuring 100% compliance with food safety protocols and organic regulations
Optimizing the unique orchard-based production model for maximum efficiency and quality
Executing comprehensive go-to-market strategies across retail, foodservice, and e-commerce
Elevating the Bostocks Brothers brand and customer experience in the competitive organic marketplace
Leading digital transformation initiatives including partnerships with renowned chefs like Peter Gordon
Leveraging market intelligence to identify and capture new growth opportunities in organic poultry
To thrive in this role, you’ll have:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Business Administration, or related field
5-10 years progressive leadership experience in food manufacturing
Proven track record managing P&L responsibility
Previous success driving revenue growth and margin improvement in premium food categories
Experience leading cross-functional teams
Financial acumen including budgeting, analysis, and ROI optimization
Knowledge of digital marketing, e-commerce platforms, and data analytics
Experience with organic supply chain complexities and procurement strategies
An understanding of animal welfare standards and sustainable farming practices
An Innovation mindset embracing calculated risk-taking for business growth
Passion for organic principles, sustainability, and ethical business practices
Exceptional communication skills with ability to influence at all levels
