Your opportunity to join our team

The purpose of the Quality Assurance Officer role is to ensure that the Company’s quality standards are met during raw material receival, inspection, mixing / preparation, processing, chilling, storage, distribution and selling operations

THIS POSITION IS A ROSTERED POSITION  -  08h00 - 04h30  / Monday to Friday  / times may vary as business operations dictates

Responsibilities include

  • Audit and verify the correct implementation of the plant HACCP Programme.
  • Monitor raw material quality in terms of temperature, age, organoleptic quality, packaging integrity, foreign material contamination, microbiological quality, weight and conformance to company and supplier specifications.
  • Monitor raw material storage.
  • Monitor meat / mix preparation, temperature and conformance to product formulation.
  • Monitor product forming and pickup to ensure conformance to product specification.
  • Monitor cooked product deep muscle temperature to ensure food safety standards are achieved.
  • Monitor finished product packaging and cartoning operations to ensure compliance to product specification.
  • Monitor finished product storage and despatch operations in terms of temperature, hygiene and stock rotation.
  • Monitor equipment performance in relation to product quality and initiate corrective action where necessary through processing plant management.
  • Monitor critical quality and food safety control points and initiate corrective action where necessary.
  • Monitor compliance to Food Security procedures.
  • Provide a weekly summary of the plant HACCP programme on the QA CCP Log.
  • Investigate customer complaints at processing plant level and recommend corrective action to Plant Management, National Quality Manager NZ.

You will bring to this role

  • Tertiary qualifications preferably Food Science or equivalent OR relevant Food Processing Plant experience
  • Knowledge of FMCG and HACCP
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good computer literacy
