The Territory Manager - Foodservice - South Island is responsible for driving incremental sustainable sales growth within the foodservice and wholesale channels across the South Island region. This role focuses on managing and developing existing customer relationships while identifying and securing new business opportunities to maximize volume, margin, and market penetration.

The position requires a strategic approach to territory management combined with tactical execution to deliver agreed volume and margin targets. The role involves comprehensive customer management, business development activities, and close collaboration with head office teams to ensure seamless service delivery and market responsiveness across the South Island foodservice channel

Responsibilities include

  • Manage and develop key foodservice and wholesale customers within the South Island territory
  • Provide day-to-day account management including order processing, pricing support, and issue resolution
  • Conduct regular customer business reviews to identify growth opportunities and address challenges
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing and potential customer base
  • Develop and maintain a robust new business pipeline with clear timelines and probability assessments
  • Monitor and respond to competitive pricing pressures and market dynamics
  • Implement promotional activities and track performance against objectives

You will bring to this role

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience as a Territory Manager or similar role within the foodservice channel
  • Bachelor's degree preferred (Business, Marketing, or related field) or related experience
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth
  • Experience in the food industry, particularly within foodservice or wholesale channels would be advantageous
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively within the South Island
  • Results-driven with a strong passion for sales and business development
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
