Leading Hand - Distribution Cambridge

The Leading Hand – Distribution supports the Team Leader in the day-to-day operations of the warehouse or distribution centre. This hands-on leadership role ensures that goods are received, stored, picked, and dispatched accurately and efficiently while maintaining a safe and organised working environment. The Leading Hand acts as a team leader, setting the standard for productivity, quality, and teamwork.

Working Hours 08h00am - 04h30pm

Daily Tasks

• Assisting with daily coordination of warehouse and distribution activities, ensuring efficient workflows
• Assist in rostering and planning daily staff activities when required.
• Train new and existing staff on processes, systems and safety protocols
• Process orders for our External and Internal customers.
• Lead, guide, and support a team of warehouse staff to achieve KPI’s and deadlines.
• Action incoming calls and emails as required
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments to ensure smooth operations.

You will bring to this role

• Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution environment (2+ years)
• Minimum 1 year proven leadership experience
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory control
• Competent in Microsoft Office, Work, Excel, teams and Outlook
• Ability to lead by example in a physically demanding environment
