Job Description

As the National Health & Safety Manager for Inghams in New Zealand, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of health and safety across our operations. Based in Te Aroha, this permanent, full-time position requires a dynamic individual with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.  We have a passionate and close-knit team waiting to welcome you in as their coach, leader and mentor.

We’ve got sites all across the Northern Island – from Breeder facilities to Further Processing Plants and Distribution centers – and your skills will be a real asset at every one of them.

Some of what would be expected of you:

  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures in line with legislation and company standards.
  • Provide expert advice on health and safety matters to senior management and employees.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Lead investigations into accidents or incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Monitor and analyse health and safety performance data, producing reports for management review.
  • Maintain relationships with regulatory authorities, industry bodies, and external stakeholders to stay abreast of best practices.

More about you:

  • Degree or Graduate Diploma in relevant field
  • Experience in a Safety role with a minimum of 5 years’ experience at a Senior / Executive level 
  • Management experience – leading Teams
  • ACC partnership program knowledge - ability to drive and maintain tertiary level status -  preferred
  • 2-3 years Injury management claims knowledge and experience -  preferred

  • Strong people leadership capability with experience in leading teams across multiple sites
