As the Plant Manager at Inghams, based in Cambridge within the Further Processing Plant, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the operations and management of our further processing plant facilities.
This is a permanent, full-time position based out of the beautiful Cambridge
A key senior leadership role for someone who has already proven themselves in high-performing manufacturing / food processing environments. You’ll bring expertise in operations, large-team leadership, and performance management across people, assets, and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of plant operations to ensure efficient production processes and adherence to quality standards.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to optimise plant performance, productivity, and workflow.
- Oversee maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
- Manage a team of staff, providing leadership, guidance, and support to achieve operational objectives.
- Monitor production schedules, inventory levels, and resource allocation to meet customer demands effectively.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the plant.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and resolve operational issues.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Agriculture, or similar field / OR 10+ years Industry experience
- An MBA qualification would be advantageous
Desired Skills
- Proven ability to develop, communicate and implement production plans to budgets and service delivery
- Ability to analyse large volumes of data and turning into purposeful insights for your team
- Experience monitoring compliance with safety policies and procedures
- Experience leading large high performance team across multiple disciplines.
- Knowledge of relevant legislative and compliance requirements
- Experience working within the Food Production or FMCG would be advantageous
- Demonstrated implementation in any of the following, TPM, LEAN/Six Sigma and CMMS
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships and influence senior stakeholders internal and external to the organisation
- Ability to coach and develop others, monitor and measure performance and provide direct feedback. Implementing cultural change through leadership, engagement and coaching
