Job Description

The purpose of the Category & Shopper Manager is to provide key shopper and category insights to help Ingham’s provide Kiwis deliciously good food in the best way . This will come through both internal and external engagement with key stakeholders This role will also be responsible for the review of all available data and research, turning this information into useable data and insights, whilst helping embed a category and shopper focus both within the Inghams business as well as in our key customers

Work 3 days from home and 2 days from the Waitoa office

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and validate growth platforms through consumer and shopper research and analytics
  • Identifying gaps in knowledge and recommending best methodology to overcome
  • Assisting with informing NPD, Marketing and Sales around portfolio, range, space, promotional activity recommendations in all categories
  • Provide expert category analysis and recommendations across areas of promotion, distribution, pricing, product mix and profitability via customer specific data (ie IRI, Nielsen and Quantium)
  • Managing the preparation of customer range reviews and working closely with the National Business team to develop compelling category stories
  • Commercialise the NPD pipeline for stage gate readiness by providing key consumer insights and category input.
  • Creating and developing a long term plan and strategy for development of the category.
  • Drive key relationships with the large retailers and data and insights providers

Qualification and Experience

  • Currently work in FMCG or be from an agency background
  • Must have Category Management or similar experience
  • Experience in Neilson or IRI scan data, Quantium preferred

Understanding of New Zealand meat industry would be advantageous

  • Clear understanding of the NZ Grocery industry, along with Foodstuffs and Woolworth New Zealand operations
