This is a permanent full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the efficient operation of our feed production facility.
This is a rostered position / Tuesday - Friday 02h00am - 12h30pm
On call once a month with some weekend work
Key responsibilities and main tasks for this role include:
- Conducting routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment within the feedmill to ensure optimal functionality.
- Identifying and diagnosing mechanical issues, troubleshooting breakdowns, and implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime.
- Collaborating with the maintenance team to carry out preventative maintenance schedules and inspections in adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Assisting in the installation of new equipment, conducting testing, and ensuring compliance with technical specifications.
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives by providing input on process enhancements and efficiency gains.
The ideal candidate for this role will possess:
- Trade Qualification as Fitter
- Clear understanding of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic equipment
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in mechanical systems and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to workplace safety are essential attributes for success in this position.
- You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- You will be reliable and punctual
- Available to work the occasional weekend hours from time to time
