About the Role
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading and delivering major capital projects across the organisation's manufacturing and processing facilities, with emphasis on
- food safety,
- operational efficiency, and
- regulatory compliance.
Oversees projects from concept through to commissioning and handover, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
The role is predominantly based out of the Waitoa office. It works across the full Inghams NZ network, with processing and farming sites stretching from Auckland through to the Bay of Plenty. Regular travel to operational sites is a core part of the role
Key Responsibilities:
x Project Leadership and Delivery
Lead planning, execution and delivery of capital projects ($500k-$10m), including new plant installations, process improvements and building works. Manage stakeholder expectations and coordinate cross-functional teams. Ensuring projects align with the business capital plan and AOP.
x Financial Management
Manage project budgets, prepare cost estimates, track expenditure, manage variations, and ensure optimal ROI. Prepare business cases and investment proposals for senior leadership.
x Regulatory Compliance
Ensure compliance with Building Act, Health & Safety at Work Act, food safety regulations and RMA. Work with regulatory authorities to obtain necessary consents and approvals.

Key Requirements:
We are looking for an exceptional leader with good people management skills. High attention to detail and a very good communicator. A results-orientated, commercially focused problem-solver
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or related technical field
- Post-graduate qualification or professional certification (PMP, PRINCE2) desirable
- 8-10 years project management experience, 5+ years in senior roles
- Experience in FMCG or food manufacturing sector
- Managing capital projects over $1 million
- Experience in operational manufacturing environment
- Good understanidng of NZ Regulations
