Your opportunity to join our team!

As a Hatchery Assistant, your role will be involved in the processing of our day old chicks. This is a physically demanding role that requires someone with the physical fitness and stamina to work well within the team to achieve great results for our hatchery operations!

Role Details:

Location: Tuakau

Hours: 32 hours per week - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday

Start Time: 5:00am - 1:30pm (shift times may vary based on hatchery requirements)

Physical Demands: This is a physically demanding role involving lots of bending, lifting, and repetitive work.

Daily tasks:

Help in processing of day old chickens

• Transfer of eggs from machines to machines

• Cleaning of chick boxes

• Cleaning & disinfection using chemicals

• Lots of bending and lifting above shoulder level

• Lifting up to a maximum of 15 kg

• Maintaining biosecurity protocols

• Record keeping and data entry

• Equipment maintenance and general hatchery support tasks

You'll bring to this role

Physical fitness and strength - this is a physically demanding role involving lots of bending, lifting and repetitive work

• You will be an energetic team player striving for success

• Ability to lift up to 15 kg regularly and work comfortably at shoulder height and above

• Due to Bio-Security risks, all farming employees may not have any poultry or birds at home

• You will have the ability to work unsupervised and have excellent time management

• You will have excellent attention to detail

• You won't be afraid of hard work or rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck in

• Reliability and commitment to meeting production schedules
