Job Description

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you'll be a hands-on problem solver responsible for keeping our plant equipment running efficiently and reliably. From reactive breakdown repairs to planned preventive maintenance, you'll play a critical role in minimising production downtime and supporting a smooth operation on the floor.

Schedule - Nightshift Monday to Friday 5:30pm–4:00am. Flexibility across all shifts required to cover leave with occasional weekend maintenance work as required, giving you structure while keeping things interesting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responding promptly to machinery breakdowns and executing repair plans
  • Diagnosing, fault-finding, and repairing industrial equipment
  • Completing planned and preventive maintenance works as directed
  • Setting up plant and equipment to ensure efficient start-up
  • Conducting stainless steel fabrication and basic welding as required
  • Carrying out equipment overhauls
  • Recalibrating instruments and routine servicing (oiling, cleaning, maintenance)
  • Liaising with the Production team to schedule and prioritise maintenance activity
  • Maintaining compliance with WH&S standards and company policies at all times

About You

You're a qualified tradesperson who thrives in a fast-moving manufacturing environment. You take pride in your work, communicate well with production teams, and know how to stay calm under pressure.

You'll bring:

  • A relevant Engineering Trade qualification or equivalent
  • Proven mechanical maintenance experience - ideally within FMCG or food manufacturing (advantageous)
  • Experience with stainless steel fabrication and welding
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability across industrial equipment
  • A working knowledge of production machinery and manufacturing environments
  • Some electrical maintenance knowledge (non-essential but valued)
  • A reliable, detail-oriented approach and excellent teamwork skills
