Your opportunity to join our team:
We are currently looking for a Hatchery Assistant to join our team at our McKees Hill Hatchery. This is a hands-on role working in a fast-paced production environment, supporting the day-to-day operations of our hatchery and helping ensure the highest standards of animal welfare, quality, and safety are maintained.
This role will work 3-4 days per week, including Saturdays, with 6:00 am starts, so reliability and the ability to commit to early morning shifts are essential.

Daily Tasks:
- Ensure all livestock is treated humanely and in line with Inghams’ Minimum Standard Procedures
- Process and inspect eggs and chicken safely and efficiently in accordance with quality standards
- Complete manual handling tasks safely and correctly
- Be an active, respectful team member who is reliable and committed to their work
- Actively support a strong safety culture by following procedures, speaking up, and being mindful of risks
- Perform cleaning duties and maintain a clean and organised work environment
- Store and maintain materials, equipment, and tools appropriately
- Identify and escalate any Animal Welfare, Food Safety & Quality issues, hazards, or risks
- Take personal responsibility to ensure the humane treatment of livestock at all times
You will bring to this role:

- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and procedures correctly
- Proven experience working effectively in a team environment
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
