The Site Maintenance Officer is responsible for the ongoing upkeep, repair, and improvement of all buildings, grounds, and associated infrastructure across the site. This hands-on role combines trade-level skills in plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance to ensure the property remains safe, functional, and presentable.
The role requires someone who can work autonomously on day-to-day tasks. The successful candidate will take ownership of the site’s physical condition and proactively identify maintenance needs before they escalate.

Daily Tasks
- Prepare and paint interior and exterior surfaces including walls, ceilings, doors, trims, and fascias
- Apply protective coatings, sealants, and waterproofing treatments as required
- Repair damaged plasterboard, gyprock, and rendered surfaces including patching holes and cracks
- Install or repair wall fixtures, brackets, shelving, and notice boards
- Inspect, maintain, and repair roof sheeting, ridge capping, and flashings
- Clear and maintain gutters, downpipes, and stormwater drainage systems
- Carry out minor roof plumbing including box gutter repairs and overflow management
- Carry out general plumbing maintenance including repair and replacement of taps, valves, and fixtures
- Diagnose and repair leaks in water supply lines and waste pipes.
- Clear blocked drains, toilets, and sewer lines using appropriate equipment
- Repair and replace doors, windows, frames, locks, and associated hardware
- Construct, repair, and maintain timber structures
- Conduct regular building inspections and report on condition, defects, and recommended repairs
- Maintain all common areas, amenities, car parks, pathways, and external grounds
- Maintain and repair floor coverings, ceiling tiles, and internal fittings
You will bring to this role
- Multiple years’ experience in a hands-on building maintenance or facilities role
- Demonstrated competency across multiple trades including painting, plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs
- Strong practical problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously
- Good written and verbal communication skills for interacting with tradespeople and management alike
- Preferable
- Trade qualification in one or more of the following: Plumbing, Carpentry, or Building Maintenance (Certificate III or above)
- Confined Spaces certification
- Asbestos Awareness training
- Experience with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) Maximo
- Experience managing or supervising subcontractors
