As Operations Manager you will report to a member of the Executive Leadership Team and oversee the safe and efficient operation of Inghams' largest primary processing site and its supply chain functions. 

Leading a multi-functional team, you will implement strategic site plans aligned with broader network objectives, contribute to long-term planning and support future-focussed activities by engaging with external stakeholders including local council and environmental bodies.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the site to deliver all manufacturing and production activities to meet customer demands while driving operational efficiency
  • Coach and support the site leadership team to build a high-performance culture centred on accountability and collaboration, aligned with our core values of care, courage, curiosity and commitment
  • Develop site leaders and their teams through targeted growth opportunities, building capability and creating succession pathways
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative and innovative culture across the site and broader Inghams business
  • Oversee Inghams’ quality, safety and animal welfare programs, ensuring compliance to all company and regulatory standards and embedding shared understanding and accountability across all employees
  • Drive continuous improvement across the site and wider Primary network by identifying and implementing initiatives that enhance network performance and efficiency
  • Monitor and maintain the site budget and seek approval for non-budgeted spend

Key requirements:

  • At least 5-7 years’ experience working in a similar manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership capability to engage and develop cross-functional teams, building a positive and high-performance culture
  • Demonstrated success in improving operational performance and leading cultural change through effective leadership, engagement and coaching
  • A positive, motivated and commercially astute approach with the resilience to deliver results in a fast-paced, high pressure food production environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective relationships internally and externally at all levels
  • A commitment to driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Tertiary qualification preferred
