Job Description

Your opportunity to join our Technology team in North Ryde

As Security Operations Analyst you will be responsible for maintaining and improving security processes and systems to protect the organisation from cyber-attacks.  This will include monitoring the Inghams’ technology landscape for security issues, responding to incidents, optimising security tools and driving end user security awareness.  

Reporting to the Information and Cyber Security Manager, you will have hands-on experience across a range of security technology concepts such as vulnerability management, SIEM, end-point detection response (EDR), email security, cloud application security, web security and security awareness training.

You will be an effective communicator with the ability to maintain strong working relationships with Inghams’ external security partners, internal technology teams and business stakeholders.

The scope of this role encompasses a broad cyber security landscape covering IT, OT (Operational Technology) and third-party risk.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist in the early identification of security incidents through monitoring controls and security event management
  • Provide insight on newly identified cyber risks and vulnerabilities
  • Prepare reports that take note of security incidents and the extent of the damage caused by these incidents
  • Ensure the deployment of security technology is effective and current
  • Manage and maintain documentation relevant to Ingham’s cyber security platforms, processes and projects
  • Research the latest in information technology security trends to keep up to date with the subject and use the latest technology to protect information
  • Participate in the testing of simulated cyber-attacks to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities
  • Make recommendations to security team members about security advancements to best protect Ingham’s systems
  • Work closely with the Cyber GRC team on uplifting and prioritising security in accordance with the relevant frameworks (e.g. NIST)
  • Operational management and monitoring of the performance of network, systems and application security solutions and highlight areas of non-compliance
  • Help co-workers when they need to install a new program or learn about security procedures
  • Assist in educating and training employees on good cyber security practices, known risks and emerging threats
  • Work with Internal Audit, external auditors and third parties on security assessment responses when required

Key requirements:

  • Minimum of 12 months experience in a cyber security analyst role or equivalent
  • Bachelors degree in Information Security, Computing Science or equivalent
  • Demonstrable understanding of best practice cyber security frameworks including NIST, ISO27001 and ASD Essential 8
  • Experience with developing and implementing Information Security procedures and guidelines
  • Practical experience with deployment and/or operation of commonly used information security solutions. (Endpoint Protection, Email Security, Web Security / Proxies, Firewalls / NGFW, IDS / IPS, URL Filtering)
  • Great problem solving and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Certification in Information Security such as Security+, CCNA Security is desirable
