As the Reliability and Maintenance Planner you will be responsible for detailed maintenance planning, work package development, and scheduling optimization to maximize maintenance efficiency and equipment reliability. Your role will develop comprehensive job plans, optimize preventive maintenance strategies, and collaborate with Stores and Purchasing to ensure the right parts are available when needed. You'll work as part of a core maintenance leadership team alongside the Maintenance Supervisor and Reliability Engineer and provide backup support for these roles.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop, monitor and implement maintenance plans for the site based on criticality of equipment to the site, known requirements, corrective requests, CBM inputs, legislative guidelines and Inghams standards.
- Create and optimize 6-week rolling maintenance schedules balancing production requirements and resource availability
- Prepare complete work packages including technical documentation, safety procedures, permits, and isolation requirements
- Collaborate with Stores and Purchasing to optimize spare parts inventory, ensuring materials availability for planned work while supporting site reliability objectives
- Maintain and improve library of standardized job plans for recurring maintenance tasks with coverage for critical equipment
- Maintain CMMS (Maximo) data integrity including asset details, work order information, job plans, preventive maintenance plans, and major maintenance schedules
- Analyse planning effectiveness metrics and drive continuous improvement in work management processes
- Ensure the execution of Safety, animal welfare and Quality assurance practices with all repairs and planned activities.
- Supervise and organize weekend maintenance work on alternate Saturdays
- Contribute to the capital planning and budgeting process by forecasting future needs and identifying improvement opportunities
- Drive Inghams Way asset management standards through ensuring high level of work practices
- Use key lead indicators to implement improvement plans focused on leading indicators for proactive improvement
- Develop, communicate and monitor performance against KPI’s
- Actively participate in Safety for Life program, risk assessments, and third-party and internal audits
- Identify waste elimination opportunities through Finding Eight participation
Key requirements:
- Experience as a Maintenance Planner in a 24/7 operation, preferably in food manufacturing or processing
- Experience in planning and scheduling for sites with services including ammonia refrigeration, compressed air, advanced wastewater and trade waste treatment
- Experience within a culture of 5S, TPM, LEAN/Six Sigma and CMMS systems (Maximo preferred)
- Proven track record of developing and maintaining comprehensive job plan libraries and optimizing preventive maintenance programs
- Strong understanding of reliability-centred maintenance principles and demonstrated results in implementing maintenance tactics to improve equipment reliability
- Strong working knowledge of best practice maintenance management, CMMS data integrity, and inventory optimization
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to collaborate effectively with tradespeople, supervisors, engineers, stores, purchasing, and senior management
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret reliability data, usage patterns, and performance metrics to drive improvement
- Proven attention to detail with skills in data analysis, information processing, and problem solving
- Understanding of animal welfare and food quality requirements in processing environments
- Degree or post trade qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Post trade qualifications in Maintenance Management (preferred)
