As HR Business Partner for Victoria/Tasmania, you will partner with a broad leadership group across multiple sites spanning our operations and farming businesses. Based largely at our Somerville primary processing facility you will play a key role in enabling leaders to develop their people whilst supporting Inghams’ culture journey across the state.
This is a part-time position working 3-4 days a week (flexible hours) predominantly supporting our large Somerville site with occasional travel to other sites.
This is a hands-on operational role requiring expertise in IR/ER. The successful candidate will be adept at Enterprise Agreement bargaining across large workforces and supporting leaders with performance management, investigations and grievance handling.
Key responsibilities:
- Partner with stakeholders across multiple sites to provide advice and support on people-related matters including employment relations, performance and conduct, policies and procedures
- Lead local enterprise agreement negotiations and foster productive union relationships
- Develop EA strategies, conduct pre-bargaining work, attend bargaining meetings and ensure a smooth voting process, maintaining effective communication to employees, unions and leaders throughout
- Support leaders in the management of employment relations matters, including conducting workplace investigations
- Coach, support and influence leaders to develop and sustain a constructive culture
- Support governance initiatives and assist to standardise and simplify people processes
- Work with the L&D team to build capability of front-line leaders
- Drive local implementation of people processes such as remuneration and performance reviews and talent and succession processes
- Contribute positively to the wider P&P team, fostering open communication and actively seeking feedback
- Develop an understanding of business priorities and connect them to people initiatives that support the business
Key requirements:
- Demonstrated business partnering experience within a large, complex blue-collar/operational environment, supporting a diverse, multi-site workforce
- Demonstrated experience working in a unionised environment, leading, interpreting and negotiating Enterprise Agreements and building productive union relationships
- Experience in the application of workplace relations legislation and frameworks and exposure to Fair Work
- Flexibility to be site-based at Somerville 3-4 days a week with occasional travel required
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships, develop trust and influence a variety of stakeholders
- Highly effective time management and prioritisation skills
- Tertiary qualifications in HR preferred
