Your opportunity to join our Technology team at North Ryde!
Inghams is seeking a talented mid-to-senior BI Developer to join our data team and help transform the way we use information to drive business decisions. This is your chance to make a tangible impact at ANZ’s largest integrated poultry producer—a company that has been bringing families to the table for over 100 years.
We've embarked on an exciting data transformation journey, rolling out a new data and AI platform powered by AWS. This is a unique opportunity to be part of transforming enterprise-scale analytics capabilities by leveraging cloud-native technologies to unlock insights that will shape our business for the next decade.
In this role, you'll design and deliver powerful reporting solutions that turn complex operational and commercial data into clear, actionable insights. Working alongside our data professionals at our contemporary North Ryde headquarters (moving to the new office in Macquarie Park in April 2026), you'll partner directly with stakeholders across the business to understand their challenges and deliver BI solutions that genuinely make their work easier.
If you're someone who gets energised by solving real business problems and translating technical concepts into plain language, we'd love to hear from you.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that deliver clear, actionable insights to stakeholders across operations, finance, sales, farming, and supply chain functions.
- Build and optimise semantic data models using star schema and dimensional modelling principles to ensure fast, reliable, and scalable reporting performance.
- Write advanced DAX calculations and measures including time intelligence, context manipulation, and complex business logic to meet sophisticated analytical requirements.
- Write complex SQL queries and optimise database performance to extract, transform, and validate data from our enterprise data warehouse and operational systems.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate complex data concepts into business-friendly language, and ensure solutions address genuine operational needs.
- Implement row-level security and data governance standards to protect sensitive information while enabling self-service analytics where appropriate.
- Create comprehensive documentation including data dictionaries, technical specifications, and user guides that empower end-users to get the most from BI tools.
- Provide training and support to business users, building data literacy and confidence across the organisation.
- Identify opportunities for improvement by proactively recommending enhancements to existing reports, processes, and data quality practices.
Key requirements:
- Advanced Power BI expertise including Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, dataflows, and deployment pipelines—you should be able to build enterprise-grade solutions from scratch.
- Strong SQL skills with extensive experience writing complex queries, optimising performance, working with views and stored procedures, and deep understanding of relational database concepts. You should be highly proficient in T-SQL and comfortable working directly with SQL Server databases.
- Strong DAX proficiency with demonstrable experience writing complex measures, time intelligence calculations, and context-aware formulas (CALCULATE, ALL, FILTER, SUMX, etc.).
- Data modelling expertise with practical knowledge of star schema design, fact/dimension tables, and Kimball methodology.
- Business translation ability—you can confidently explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Problem-solving mindset with a genuine interest in understanding business challenges and delivering practical, user-centred solutions.
- 3–6 years of hands-on BI development experience in a commercial environment.
- Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, or supply chain environments where operational data complexity is high.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Azure, Microsoft Fabric, or similar).
- Exposure to ETL/ELT processes using SSIS, AWS Glue, or similar tools.
- AWS experience including services such as S3, Redshift, Glue, Athena, QuickSight, or Lambda—particularly valuable as we build out our new cloud data platform.
- Python or R skills for advanced data manipulation or analytics.
- Microsoft PL-300 certification (Power BI Data Analyst Associate) or equivalent.
We’re looking for people who are curious, caring, courageous and committed to join us; people who want to contribute their best work every single day and continue delivering deliciously good food that’s…Always Good!
