Job Description

Your opportunity to join our team Broiler team in Victoria

As the Broiler Manager you will lead a team of Service staff and oversee the detailed and diligent servicing of all contract broiler farms across Victoria. You will work closely with the farm owners/managers to support the day to day operations of the broiler farms to ensure optimal compliance and performance including the achievement of volume, cost, profit, animal welfare, safety and quality objectives.


Additionally, you will work with your Livehaul manager and transport contractor to manage the supply of live birds to the Primary Processing Plant. You will ensure the catching process, transportation, supply timing and live bird quality adheres to Group Minimum Standard Procedures, Group Quality Procedures and Animal Welfare Legislation.

Responsibilities include

  • Lead Victorian Broiler Farming operations to ensure effective and integrated management of each area to maximise efficiencies and meet our customer demands.
  • Oversight of contract broiler farms, catching and transport operations.
  • Ensure the efficient supply of live birds to our processing facilities, maintaining animal welfare standards at the highest level.
  • Monitor, evaluate and communicate performance, risks and issues to key stakeholders including farming operations manager.
  • Provide leadership to diverse and remote teams to ensure employees are competent, productive and trained to be successful in their role.
  • Manage and monitor budget and spend across the state.
  • Inspire others with a compelling safety vision and demonstrate commitment to reduce risks by motivating and encouraging team members.

You will bring to this role

  • Current Victorian drivers licence.
  • Extensive farming experience preferably in Broiler Servicing.
  • Previous experience managing a complex of farms and leading teams.
  • Previous experience in transport and logistics with a strong understanding of compliance and safety particularly in COR.
  • Strong people leadership skills with the ability to build, lead and develop teams and create a positive and collaborative working environment.
  • Strong understanding of broiler and poultry welfare and sound knowledge of legislative and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement farming plans to budget with strong analytical skills along with effective P&L and budget management skills.
  • Superior communication skills with the ability to communicate cross functionally to build strong relationships across the business.
