Daily Tasks:
As a backup Boiler Attendant you will be required to fill the duties of the Boiler Attendant/PCP operator during periods when the regular Boiler Attendant is not available. As a Boiler Attendant you will be required to:
- Operate Rendering Equipment (hammermill, boiler, cookers, press, etc.)
- Operate 2 MW boilers to ensure safe and reliable operation of the boiler
- Operate 2 rendering cookers
- Ensure the recording of accurate information in the day-to-day performance of the rendering facility
- Responsible for reporting accurate stock inventories of ingredients and related consumable items
- Make sound judgments regarding product quality, consult with technical resources as needed
- Participate in problem-solving teams as required
- Understand, and follow work instructions
- Conduct a pre-start audit to ensure all necessary and required steps have been followed and equipment is ready for start-up according to set-up parameters
- Ensure accurate information is communicated in shift handovers and other communication logs
- Assist with continuous improvement projects, as assigned or available
You will bring to this role
- Current Australian Driver’s License
- Boiler license and/or mechanical experience (highly desirable)
- Previous work experience which demonstrates mechanical/technical aptitude
- Role model uncompromising commitment to health, safety, and quality in the workplace
- Ability to work well under pressure
- High attention to detail
