Your opportunity to join our team
As a Maintenance Fitter at our Sorell facility, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our machinery and equipment. You will play a key role in minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and making necessary repairs. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive team and contribute to the production of high-quality poultry products.

Hours of Work:
- This is a full-time role that will operate Monday – Friday , rotating shifts
- 4:00am-12:30pm
- 6:00am-2:30pm
- 8:30am-5:00pm
Daily Tasks:
- Attending to repairs and breakdowns of production machinery in a timely manner
- Reduce reactive maintenance and proactively improve unplanned downtime
- Assisting in developing and introducing maintenance programs to support all internal stakeholders
- Ensure the execution of safety standards and quality assurance practices into all repairs and maintenance activities
- Identifying and escalating Animal Welfare, Food Safety & Quality issues, hazards and risks
- Take personal responsibility to ensure livestock is treated humanely by self and others
You will bring to this role:
- Australian recognised Mechanical Trades qualification
- Experience in servicing, repair, and maintaining various equipment, including but not limited to automated packing machinery, conveyors, hydraulics, and more, in an industrial manufacturing environment .
- Demonstrated commitment to Occupational Health and Safety practices
- Experience in fault finding on hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems
- Experience in breakdown as well and preventive maintenance
- Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships, communicate and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders
- Proven skills in the areas of attention to detail, information processing and problem solving with the ability to multitask
- Experience with Maximo as a CMMS would be an advantage
- Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
