This position will oversee the company requirements of catching and ‘Just in Time’ delivery of 375K birds per week, ensuring all aspects of Animal Welfare (through catch and transport), Health & Safety, biosecurity and quality are being managed by the WA catching crews.
Due to seasonal fluctuations this role will also support the Broiler Serviceperson with their duties so experience in this field will be highly regarded.
Tool of Trade provided, local travel is required.
Responsibilities include
- Oversee the safe and efficient catching of live-birds via catching teams
- Oversee management and stocktake of easy load modules
- Attend catching, transport and live bird storage in person and completing company audits, reports and checklists
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of logistics into and out of the site
- Ensure the company animal welfare standards are met and compliance with and between Company and regulatory bodies are fulfilled
- Support the Broiler Serviceperson with responsibility for the detailed and diligent servicing of all contract broiler farms ensuring optimal compliance and performance including the achievement of volume, cost, profit, animal welfare and quality objectives
- Working closely with and assisting with regulatory bodies
You will bring to this role
- Demonstrated high level of experience with coordinating logistics, quality assurance and animal welfare
- Ability to monitor/audit and manage relationships, understanding requirements and educating/training on best practice/standards
- Strong people and crew management experience with a hands-on leadership style and the ability to react and troubleshoot accordingly
- Extensive safety leadership expertise with experience working in a high risk area
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships and work with a variety of stakeholders including Plant & Farming Managers, Catching and Transport contractors and Farmers
- Strong understanding of safety particularly in COR
- Current drivers license.
