As a Leading Hand you will lead a team to support our operations at Inghams Further Processing Facility at Edinburgh Parks. Your engaging and inspiring leadership skills will be imperative to the success of your team, and the business overall.
This Leading Hand role offers afternoon shifts Monday to Friday, with some weekend work as well. Hours are 2:30pm – 11:00pm.
Working closely in Production, your previous experience in a similar FMCG environment will be paramount to your success.
Please note this role involves work in a cold environment, previous experience in FMCG is essential.

Daily Tasks:
- Coach and develop the distribution/warehousing team to ensure they have the capability to meet the performance goals
- Report on operations and general work planning
- Establish, communicate and monitor safety standards and lead corrective action in areas of high risk
- Execute the site’s plan with ongoing measurement of performance, achievement of scheduled deadlines and allocating resources appropriately
- Liaising with your Supervisor and identify and manage Food Safety & Quality issues, hazards and risks
To be successful in this role, you will need to:
- Experience in a high-volume manufacturing industry in a Team Leader position. Experience in food manufacturing and/or FMCG industry will be highly regarded.
- Ability to work in a cold environment.
- Forklift license essential.
- Proven communication and leadership skills to lead a team.
- Drive the continual improvement of both processes and people.
- A desire to build team capability through training and transfer of knowledge.
- Computer literate and comfortable using the MS suite.
- Proficient in Warehouse planning and operations.
- Experience managing information related to raw materials, product-in-process, packaging materials, finished product or packed stock.
- Following and maintaining GMP Compliance.
- Experience driving positive cultural change.
