Your opportunity to join our team at Lytton!
Based at our Lytton distribution centre, you will lead a small team with overall responsibility for the coordination of Transport and Inventory Management processes, ensuring cost-effective freight execution, accurate stock control, and compliant Chep and Export documentation practices.
Key responsibilities:
Transport and Export Coordination:
- Oversee the scheduling, allocation and coordination of freight movements across the state
- Liaise with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to manage bookings and resolve issues
- Identify routing and cost-saving opportunities through regular freight reviews
- Monitor vendor performance, KPIs, rate cards, fuel costs, and timeslot adherence
- Support contingency plans, including alternative transport and supplier engagement
- Ensure compliance with CoR, safety, and export/import regulations
- Manage POs for compliance and payment, resolving invoice issues, tracking spend and producing variance analysis
- Assist with audits, corrective actions, and transport improvement initiatives
- Execute export documentation and ensure customs/export law and federal transport regulation compliance
Inventory and Chep Controlling:
- Oversee inventory control processes, cycle counts and reconciliation to ensure accuracy
- Oversee investigation of inventory variances (QA holds, rejects, in-transit, aged stock) and implement corrective actions
- Manage manual adjustments, write-offs, and ledger reconciliations
- Generate and present inventory reports, trend analyses, and KPI dashboards
- Manage Chep usage, reconciliation, transactional accuracy and timely credit recovery
- Investigate discrepancies, liaise with carriers and third parties, and maintain accurate asset records
Team Management:
- Lead and mentor direct reports fostering collaboration, KPI achievement, and development
- Drive continuous improvement by analysing inventory and transport data to uncover efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities
- Develop and standardise SOPs for inventory, Chep and export/transport processes
- Generate and present inventory reports, trend analyses, and KPI dashboards.
- Serve as primary liaison for internal (supply chain, planning, production, sales, finance, QA/WHS) and external (customers, suppliers, freight forwarders, customs) stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, export regulations, and safety standards
Key requirements:
- Strong clerical skills with previous experience working in warehousing, logistics and/or transportation
- Superior leadership skills, able to build rapport quickly and effectively to create a highly collaborative working environment
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate cross functionally to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Ability to adapt in a dynamic and fast paced business environment
