Job Description

As a Hatchery Assistant at Inghams in QLD - McKees Hill, you will play a vital role within the 310 - HATCHERY department. This casual position in the Farm & Hatcheries category offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the operations of our hatchery. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the general operation of the hatchery
  • Monitoring and maintaining optimal environmental conditions for egg incubation
  • Carrying out regular checks on equipment and reporting any issues
  • Handling and moving eggs and chicks with care and precision
  • Contributing to the health and welfare of poultry by following established protocols
  • Working collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient hatchery processes
  • Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards within the hatchery environment

The main tasks for this role involve:

  • Monitoring temperature, humidity, and ventilation systems to support successful incubation
  • Ensuring compliance with biosecurity measures to safeguard poultry health
  • Participating in training opportunities to enhance your knowledge of hatchery practices
  • Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times while carrying out duties in the hatchery
  • Reporting any irregularities or concerns promptly to senior staff members for resolution

Desired Skills and Experience
