Job Description

Your opportunity to join our team
We are looking for a hands-on, reliable, and motivated Maintenance Fitter (Afternoon Shift) to join our dedicated team. Based at our Feedmill, you’ll be responsible for keeping operations running smoothly through preventative and reactive maintenance.

Working hours: 1:30pm to 10:00pm (Afternoon Shift)

Key responsibilities and main tasks for this role include:

  • Conducting routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment within the feedmill to ensure optimal functionality.

  • Identifying and diagnosing mechanical issues, troubleshooting breakdowns, and implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime.

  • Collaborating with the maintenance team to carry out preventative maintenance schedules and inspections in adherence to safety and quality standards.

  • Assisting in the installation of new equipment, conducting testing, and ensuring compliance with technical specifications.

  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives by providing input on process enhancements and efficiency gains.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess:

  • Trade Qualification as Fitter

  • Clear understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment

  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in mechanical systems and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to workplace safety

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Reliability and punctuality

  • Availability to work occasional weekend hours as required
