Inghams Charlton, a site that has been providing fertile eggs for over 50 years is now seeking a Assistant Farm Manager to assist the Farming Manager in the supervision of approx 25 staff. This is a 6-shed farm that houses more than 65,000 birds, you will help supervise a dedicated team while taking responsibility for the birds'. This role involves assisting the farming manager in ensuring production targets are met, supervising and training of approximately 25 staff, maintaining strict adherence to biosecurity, health, and safety protocols.. This is a seven day a week operation and is part of an exciting expansion program in the area with 2 more farms to be built by mid-2027.
Responsibilities include
- Supervision of up to 25 staff and assist in compliance training for the site
- Work planning and prioritising
- Labour efficiency's within defined areas
- Minimum standards and animal welfare objectives are achieved.
- A willingness to coach and develop team members
- Have good organisational and time management skills
- Manage the farm in the absence of the Farm Manager
You will bring to this role
- Flexibility to work hours as the rotating roster requires early mornings and weekend work.
- Basic IT skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Mechanically minded
- Previous farming experience is desirable
