Job Description

Your opportunity to join our team

As a Maintenance Fitter at our Sorell facility, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our machinery and equipment. You will play a key role in minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and making necessary repairs. We’re looking for someone with a strong welding background and experience in fitting and turning, capable of handling a variety of tasks. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive team and contribute to the production of high-quality poultry products.

This role offers flexible day shifts with rotating start times between 4am and 8am each week.

Daily Tasks

  • Performing routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment
  • Troubleshooting mechanical issues and implementing effective solutions
  • Conducting preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance
  • Carrying out welding tasks (MIG and TIG) as required
  • Adhering to safety protocols and procedures
  • Working rotating day shifts across Monday to Friday
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities (Maximo)
  • Collaborating with production teams to minimize downtime
  • Assisting other team members in their tasks when required

You will bring to this role

  • Must be Cert 3 Mechanical complete with fitting and turning experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Strong welding background, with proven MIG and TIG experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • Physical fitness to perform manual tasks and lift heavy objects
  • Flexibility to work various shifts
  • Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not required
