Job Description

Your opportunity to join our team:

Join our maintenance team at our Primary Processing Plant in Burton as a Maintenance Fitter, where you’ll play a key role in keeping our production equipment running safely, reliably and efficiently.

This is a hands-on, autonomous role where your mechanical expertise and fault-finding skills will make a genuine impact. You’ll work across preventative and reactive maintenance troubleshooting equipment issues and get to the root cause of faults, not simply patch them over.

Working a 4-on, 4-off rotating roster, you’ll enjoy the consistency of 12 hour shifts balanced with four days off, please 26.786% shift allowance applicable across the rotating roster. If you enjoy solving problems, taking ownership of your work and being part of a supportive maintenance team, this could be a great next step.

What you’ll do:

  • Attending to repairs and breakdowns of production machinery in a timely manner
  • Executing preventative and routine maintenance procedures to improve efficiency and reliability
  • Liaising with the production team to effectively plan and prioritise work to accommodate production requirements and available resources
  • Assisting in developing and introducing maintenance programs to support all internal stakeholders
  • Working autonomously and within a team environment
  • Upholding safety to the highest degree, for yourself and your colleagues
  • Sustaining and driving quality solutions in an HACCP environment
  • Actively seeking opportunities to improve operations performance, system reliability, and reduce overall downtime
  • Planning and designing projects for new installations and equipment modification and redesign
  • Ensuring the execution of safety standards and quality assurance practices in all repairs and maintenance activities
  • Identifying and escalating Animal Welfare, Food Safety & Quality issues

What you’ll bring:

  • Australian-recognised Mechanical Trades qualification
  • Experience servicing, repairing, and maintaining equipment including automated machinery, conveyors, and more, in an industrial manufacturing environment — preferably primary food processing or food and beverage
  • Experience with gear-driven systems and conveyor belts
  • Fault-finding experience across hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
  • A demonstrated commitment to occupational health and safety practices
  • Basic fabrication skills
  • Experience in both breakdown and preventive maintenance
  • Sound interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask
  • Experience with Maximo or similar CMMS (advantageous, not essential)
  • The ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team

What we’ll offer you:

  • 4:4 rotating roster (12-hour shifts, 24-hour coverage) — consistency, recovery time, and a lifestyle that actually works
  • Earn up to $45.33/hr + 26.786% shift allowances on the rotating roster
  • 5 weeks annual leave for shift positions
  • Above-Award rates plus overtime opportunities
  • Access to Fitness Passport that gives you affordable access to gyms, pools and fitness facilities nationwide
  • Employee benefits including product discounts and travel discounts
  • Genuine opportunities to develop your career, supported by our performance and succession programs.
  • The health, safety, and wellbeing of our people is our highest priority
  • ASX-listed company with operations across Australia and New Zealand

We’re looking for people who are curious, caring, courageous and committed to join us; people who want to contribute their best work every single day and continue delivering deliciously good food that’s…Always Good!
