Job Description

Your opportunity to join our Safety Leadership team

We're seeking a State WHS Manager to lead safety across Victoria. Based at our Somerville Processing Plant, you'll support our Primary Processing, Further Processing, Distribution, Farming and Feed mill sites, working with a dedicated team of WHS Coordinators based throughout the state.

What you’ll do

  • Drive safety best practice across all Victorian sites, with regular travel required
  • Collaborate with the national safety team to maintain national consistency in managing our safety management system, and drive safety initiatives across the business
  • Lead, coach and motivate your team through effective people management
  • Provide practical WHS advice and coaching to operational and agriculture leaders
  • Conduct risk assessments, lead incident investigations and manage critical incidents
  • Work with our Workers’ Compensation and Rehabilitation and Return Teams to support injury management and return to work programs.
  • Analyse data and performance metrics to identify continuous improvement opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with internal and legislative requirements to maintain our self-insurance licence.
  • Lead internal and external safety audits and build relationships with regulatory inspectors and auditors.

What you’ll bring

  • Qualifications in workplace health and safety
  • Proven experience managing teams across multiple sites in a dynamic environment
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and industry standards in Australia
  • A solution-focused mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving safety challenges
  • Hands-on leadership skills and the ability to influence teams effectively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills – comfortable building trust and working effectively with people across all levels of the organisation
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and leading incident investigations
  • Experience with injury management and return to work programs
  • Full drivers licence
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience in the following areas would be advantageous but is not essential:-
    • Self-insured environment
    • FMCG or manufacturing environment
