Based at Inghams state of the art, purpose-built Distribution Centre in Truganina, reporting to the DC Manager, you'll manage day-to-day warehouse operations. Leading our supervisory team, you'll drive performance, maintain service levels, and achieve supply targets.

You'll champion continuous improvement and best practice, supported by strong mentorship and leadership skills. We're seeking someone with supply chain expertise, initiative, resilience and a genuine commitment to progressing within Inghams.

Daily tasks

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the DC, providing support to the DC Manager as required
• Foster a proactive culture within the facility, making safety a top priority
• Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships, both internal and external, based on mutual respect and commitment to deliver exceptional service on time sensitive supply chain deadlines
• Engage and motivate your team through effective people management strategies
• Lead, coach and develop a high performing operations team, ensuring compliance to all policies and procedures, providing clear expectations, ongoing feedback and support
• Efficient resource allocation ensuring labour, equipment and transport are utilised to maximise both safety and profitability while meeting the customers’ needs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process optimisation and cost reduction
• Analyse of data and performance metrics to drive and embed continuous improvement
• Implement strategic initiatives to optimise the overall value of the business and contribute to its growth and success
• Establish and ensure maintenance programmes are carried out
• Manage the day-day warehouse operations independently to ensure tasks are carried out efficiently
• Ensure consistent demonstration of guiding principles, behaviours and Inghams values

You will bring to this role

• Significant experience in managing warehouse and distribution centres within an FMCG environment with a proven track record of achieving positive operational outcomes
• Excellent knowledge of supply chain logistics within an FMCG environment including demonstrable understanding of Cold Chain Operations, Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP
• Proven track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives including knowledge of 5S, Total Productive Manufacturing, LEAN/Six Sigma
• Willingness to take initiative and drive results to ensure business KPIs are met and exceeded whilst upholding the highest levels of safety and customer service
• Strong people leadership and engagement skills with the ability to build a collaborative working environment
• Strong analytical skills with effective P&L and budget management skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate cross functionally to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and adapt in a dynamic business environment
• On call availability (24/7) to support the team when required
