Your opportunity to join our team
Take the helm as Breeder Farm Manager at Yumali, one of South Australia's premier breeder operations. You'll manage one of four farms within the complex, overseeing six breeder sheds and leading your own dedicated team. This is a residential position with on-site accommodation—a comfortable four-bedroom home awaits.
Responsibilities include
- Lead daily farm operations and drive your team to exceed production standards
- Coach and develop staff to achieve performance goals while fostering a strong safety culture
- Roster staff efficiently and manage budget responsibilities
- Oversee flock management with a focus on animal welfare and humane treatment
- Maintain full compliance with Ingham' Minimum Standard Procedures and biosecurity protocols
- Implement and maintain biosecurity and quarantine measures
- Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency
- Champion a proactive safety culture with corrective and preventative programs
- Cover after-hours alarms as needed
You will bring to this role
- Proven track record in poultry farming operations or similar agricultural role
- Demonstrated experience leading and motivating teams
- Strong grasp of modern breeder farming practices
- Genuine commitment to animal welfare and sustainable farming
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and farm management systems
- Excellent organisational and planning skills with attention to detail
- Willingness to work outdoors in all conditions and handle both hands-on and office work
- Understanding of biosecurity and animal welfare principles
