Job Description

The General Manager, Supply Chain (AU) is a critical senior transport and warehousing leadership role responsible for providing safe, efficient and cost-effective solutions for Inghams and our customers.

This role can be based at our Macquarie Park head office or situated close to an Inghams DC in Queensland (Lytton), Victoria (Truganina) or South Australia (Edinburgh Parks).

Key responsibilities:

Warehousing (Distribution Centres) and Weigh Price Labelling facilities:

  • Provide leadership, direction and coaching to DC Managers and National Weigh Label Room Manager across Australia
  • Ensure relevant safety, regulatory and customer compliance at each facility
  • Ensure facilities are operating efficiently within their operational budget whilst providing required levels of CSL

Transport Leadership across Freight in, Freight out and Farming:

  • Provide leadership, direction and coaching to Transport Team including Procurement professionals outside of direct report
  • Ensure relevant regulatory and safety compliance for all transport providers and ensure relevant internal and external COR compliance
  • Assist in regular performance and compliance management reviews of transport suppliers
  • Provide strategic direction with regard to commercial transport contracts and negotiations

Supply Chain Commercial Leadership:

  • Full P&L responsibility for Supply Chain budget
  • Ability to develop and manage to an annual operational budget whilst achieving customer CSL
  • Strategic management of Australia-wide network to ensure most cost-effective solutions are provided

Key requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business, Economics, or related field (MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification highly regarded)
  • Minimum 5-15 years of progressive leadership experience in operations, logistics or general management roles
  • Proven track record in short shelf-life FMCG (food manufacturing), agribusiness, or related industrial sectors
  • Demonstrated experience in management of complex, national supply chains with multiple customers across diverse sectors
  • Experience building and leading high-performing operational execution teams with geographic diversity
  • Exceptional analytical capabilities and strategic thinking and with ability to synthesize complex information
  • Proven ability to lead and influence across matrix organisations
  • Strong program, change and transformation management and strategic execution experience
  • Outstanding stakeholder management skills with ability to engage at C-suite level
  • Experience operating within a heavily unionised workforce working across multiple enterprise agreements
  • Advanced proficiency in complex supply chain frameworks, business case development, and performance management
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data visualization, business intelligence, and strategic modelling
  • Knowledge of transport regulatory environment affecting the AU industry
  • Proficiency in program management tools and strategic execution methodologies
  • Experience with scenario planning, strategic foresight, and risk assessment techniques
  • Mental resilience – this is a demanding, 24-7-365 role
  • Ability to lead by example and exhibit core values visibly and passionately
  • An empathetic but balanced management approach to direct reports and wider Team members
  • High personal integrity with regard to external supplier relationships
