Job Description

Your opportunity to join our team at Macquarie Park!           

As Head of Internal Audit, you will be responsible for providing assurance and advice to Inghams’ Executive Leadership Team, the Board and the Finance & Audit Board Committee on risk management, business processes and controls, across IT systems and major projects.

You will lead the execution and delivery of a range of internal audit reviews, financial, technology and operational in nature, across Inghams’ business together with Inghams’ co-sourced provider.

As the Head of Internal Audit, you will provide recommendations to improve Inghams’ control environment, processes and systems to improve their efficiencies and effectiveness.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop the risk based annual audit plan including incorporating input and feedback from the Executive, co-sourced IA provider, and the Finance & Audit Committee.
  • Execute the annual internal audit plan, ensuring accurate working papers and records to support audit findings and scope of work.
  • Ensure that all aspects of the audit plan are delivered to the agreed quality, timing and cost.
  • Identify priority areas of risk and process improvement by understanding the organisation's systems, objectives, risks, control frameworks and regulatory environments.
  • Keep Inghams up to date on changes to internal audit standards and best practices.
  • Establish audit objectives and scope of works for each engagement.
  • Ensure Inghams’ audit process includes data analytics and/or data visualisation where appropriate in addition to end to end process understanding.
  • Gain a deep understanding of the business and processes to identify best practices and ensure they align to business standards, policies and comply with existing and emerging regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare reports for completed audits to the Executive Leadership Team and the Finance and Audit Committee, highlighting control weaknesses, risks, implications and agreed management actions for process improvements, including benchmarking and best practices.

Key requirements:

  • Minimum 8-10 years of internal audit and risk management experience
  • Experience in complex listed organisations (in-house or through ‘Big 4’) preferably with experience in Fast-moving Consumer Goods and / or manufacturing environments
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with proven ability to make recommendations and deliver efficiencies and cost savings on time
  • Passionate about driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • High learning agility, self-learner, with an ability to work in ambiguous environments
  • Ability to create positive relationships with co-sourced Internal Audit partner and staff and management across the organisation
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced skills using Excel and data analytical tools
  • Confident in managing own workload and working towards deadlines and meeting commitments
  • Energetic, enthusiastic and a positive attitude.
  • Business related degree and CA, CPA or IIA qualified.
